Dear Clients
and Friends,
Holiday
greetings from C. Berger Group, Inc. May the holiday season bring all
of you the joy and peace that your heart desires and may it continue
long into 2007!
I’m enjoying
a sunny afternoon by the pool here in Colombo, Sri Lanka and as I sit
here relaxing, it really got me thinking. For those who know me, you
know that my goal in life has always been to see as much of the world as
possible before I leave it. Within this larger goal are smaller ones
such as seeing the “new” Seven Wonders of the World, of which I have
seen three; visiting all the U.S. States, forty-six out of fifty so far;
and keeping even with my parents with countries they have seen. To date
I have been to 45 countries which according to one of the Web sites I
belong to, is only 21% of the World! So there is still a lot more to
see.
CBG also has
goals. They are embodied in our mission statement, which is:
“To
anticipate and meet the needs of the library /information community by
providing a wide range of high quality library/information services in a
timely and cost-effective manner while also fostering the growth and
development of the profession.”
We take our
vision very seriously because it shapes our direction every day. You
play a major role in ensuring that we are successful: your needs drive
our service offerings, our devotion to quality, our ongoing priorities
and our pricing. Our future is intricately tied into how well the
information profession survives and grows. This is never so much more
true than in 2007 when
CBG will be celebrating 25 years of business
- a milestone for small companies such as ours, especially in today’s
economic environment. Look for us to continue to support the
institutions which produce new graduates, associations which provide
learning and networking opportunities and agencies and employers who
cultivate knowledge exchange. We are in a partnership with employees,
clients and educators to make sure that we all in the profession
continue to enjoy the successes.
2006 was a
very busy year for CBG and was filled with examples of how we fulfilled
our mission. We spoke to students and professionals about career
opportunities and employment hints to simplify their job searches,
enhance their resumes and interview; we accepted appointments to
association and advisory committees, sponsored events and exhibited at
their activities. We continued to look for ways to make CBG more
efficient by upgrading our technology equipment, concentrating on
becoming less “paper” oriented, and expanding our areas of expertise
both professionally and personally. Three very special events that
occurred during the year were the marriage of Linda S. Jourdan, CBG’s
Manager, Client Services, the recent election of myself as
President-Elect of SLA Wisconsin and after twenty plus years, Carol A.
Berger has retired from CBG.
Keep CBG
abreast of any changes by keeping your address, e-mail and phone numbers
current. Contact us with any suggestions to make our dealings with you
more pleasant and profitable for both of us. Remember that no problem
or question is too small for us to take the time and resolve.
Thank
you for your past support
