C. BERGER GROUP SPONSORS KAREN J. SWITT AWARD AT SLA CONFERENCE IN BALTIMORE

Carol Stream, IL -- June 12, 2006. C. Berger Group, Inc.(CBG), one of the nation’s oldest and largest library consulting and staffing firms, recently announced that Larisa Brigevich received the Karen J. Switt Leadership Award at the Special Libraries Association (SLA) 97th annual conference in Baltimore. CBG sponsored the prize for the sixteenth year for the Leadership and Management Division(LMD). Joel Patrick Berger, CBG President, presented the citation to Ms. Brigevich during the LMD business meeting on June 12, 2006. The Award, instituted in 1988, recognizes a member's significant contributions to leadership in the profession of information management over a five year period. CBG funds a monetary gift and the LMD provides an etched crystal sculpture to the recipient.

"This is just another “feather” in Larisa’s career hat," said Mr. Berger. "It acknowledges her dedication to the profession and her accomplishments as a leader. Our Division is especially proud to honor one of its own who is a natural-born leader, a tireless advocate of the profession and continuing education, and the consummate career example."

Ms. Brigevich was selected because of her ability to apply a broad range of leadership and management skills to successfully advance the contributions of her organization and its staff to the global business of Franklin Templeton Investments.  Since her start at Franklin

Templeton, close to ten years ago, Ms. Brigevich has taken a small, paper-based library staffed by non-professional librarians and has grown it into a global research library in multiple locations worldwide, a staff of ten professional librarians, and multiple information services and resources.

In addition to presenting the award, Joel Berger was the moderator for the LMD session, "Knowledge Harvesting for use in Planning", presented by Dave Pellurd on June 13, 2006.

SLA is a nonprofit global organization of innovative information professionals and their strategic partners. SLA serves more than 12,000 members in 83 countries in the information profession, including corporate, academic and government information specialists. SLA promotes and strengthens its members through learning, advocacy and networking initiatives. Visit www.sla.org for additional background.
