National Staffing
Employee Week
CBG celebrated National Staffing
Employee Week along with other temporary service firms September 18th -
24th. Our CSD Specialists have nominated reliable,
flexible and dedicated field workers for the title of National Staffing Employee
of the Year.
and the
2006 CBG Field Worker of the Year is...
Theodore Kilbridge
Ted came to us in October of 2000. He came to CBG with a
JD and a MLS as well as a BA in English. Since then has worked in a
number of law and business library environments. Not only is he very
skilled in conducting business and legal research, but he also has a
strong customer service philosophy. Mr. Kilbridge is very accommodating
when it comes to accepting assignments. (It is not out of the
ordinary for Ted to commute over an hour to work a short term
assignment!)
Some of the positions Ted has
held with CBG’s clients were: Library Manager at Johnson
Controls; and Law Librarian at D’Ancona and Pflaum, at Bell Boyd and
Lloyd, LLC, and at Freeborn and Peters, LLP.
At the end of each assignment
he received high praise for his work. Here are some client
comments:
Bell Boyd and Lloyd:
"He was great!
After he left many lawyers and co-workers came in looking for him. He
was always willing to help out with various library projects."
Freeborn and Peters: Library Manager, Maureen Newman:
“It worked out very
well to have Ted fill in for me while I was on vacation. He was able to
work independently and handle various types of research requests while I
was gone. Based on the feedback I received from our attorneys, Ted was
able to promptly assist them with their research requests in a very
professional and courteous manner.”
and the 2006 CBG Field
Worker of the Year Runner-up is...
Carol Hinton-Honoré
One can only wonder if Carol knew she was going to go
work in libraries when she obtained her BS degree with a major in
Biology. Prior to working for CBG in 1993 for a short time to work with
clients in special libraries, she had worked as a circulation
supervisor, cataloging assistant, and as an information services
technician in law school and association libraries. Through the end of
the 90’s, Carol continued in the information field through her work at
Arthur Andersen LLP. Since her return to CBG in 2005, she has been a
solo librarian in a number of libraries, a database technician, a
bibliographic consultant, and is currently working as a circulation
services assistant.
Carol was chosen for the LTA/Clerk Award due to her high
level of professionalism, her strong customer service aptitude and her
willingness to take assignments that may prove to be a “long haul” to get
to.
Oak Brook Public Library’s Head of Circulation, Vernette:
"Carol has been with us for two months and is a wonderful
addition to our staff. She is dependable, thorough, has a great
personality and works well with both staff and patrons. We're
delighted that she is being honored with this award."
Nicor Gas, Pat McCarthy:
"Each morning I produce a compilation of
energy industry news that is distributed to three hundred employees
including the officers of the corporation. It's important that it be
produced by mid-morning, items need to be relevant, and the formatting needs
to be near perfect. And I asked Carol to produce it while I was gone.
She did an outstanding job under lots of pressure with grace and composure.
The "library regulars" and the corporate communications administrative
assistant attested to her ability when I returned. In addition to the
newsletter, she kept all other functions of the library running smoothly.
I'm happy to hear she is being recognized by C. Berger."
CBG
would like to thank all past and current CBG field workers, as well as all of
our clients, for making every National Staffing Employee Week worth celebrating!
