Frequently
Asked Questions about working for CBG
How
do I get an assignment ?
You can gain exposure to many types of libraries,
improve your skills, and make new friends through CBG temporary work.
Here's how it works:
- You will receive a call from a CSD Specialist when an
assignment is available which matches your skills. S/he will discuss
the location, hours, pay and length of the assignment. Refusing a job
will not jeopardize your chances of being called for future
assignments.
- You should contact a Specialist after checking
available positions on CBG’s Web site to express your interest.
CBG's jobs are updated weekly.

How
much do I get paid?
Pay rates will vary, depending on the skills required
for a particular assignment. CBG subtracts all federal and state
mandated taxes and fees, as well as voluntary deductions such as 401(k)
and other savings plans. Paychecks are issued biweekly.

What
should I do on the first day of an assignment?
We rely on you to represent CBG in a professional
manner. These are a few of the basic rules to follow while on assignment:
- Dress up for your first day of any assignment. Your
CSD Specialist will tell you if there are any special requirements or
preferences in dress.
- Be punctual: arrive at least 15 minutes early on the
first day of any assignment. Remember, first impressions are lasting
impressions.
- Introduce yourself when you arrive. Make sure the
client knows who you are and that you are affiliated with CBG.
- Always be polite and positive. When you are on
assignment, follow the client's lead.
- Review the assignment duties with your client
supervisor when you begin and whenever you need help. Let your CBG
Specialist know if your assignment's duties vary from what you were
originally informed.
- Please refrain from making and receiving personal
phone calls or using the client’s Internet and e-mail access while
on assignment.
- Keep in touch with your CBG Specialist - we're just
an e-mail or phone call away.
