Personnel Services

C. Berger Group, Inc. offers several approaches to providing the right level of staff support to meet your library or resource, information, and knowledge center management needs.

Temporary

A temporary assignment usually consists of the commitment of a CBG field worker to work at your organization for a minimal fixed time period on a regular schedule.  It is generally not your intention to hire the CBG worker we assign as a regular employee.

CBG maintains a pool of degreed and experienced professional librarians, researchers and information specialists, trained and seasoned para-professionals and clerical workers who are schooled in library procedures and operations.  They are individually screened and interviewed and we verify their employment history and other credentials.  Services for CBG field workers are billed by the hour and invoiced bi-weekly.  A CBG Client Services Specialist will elicit your specific staffing requirements and then identify a perfect match for each short-term or long-term temporary assignment.

Temp-to-Hire

CBG can select an individual from our database of candidates, field workers and outside applicants who meets your requirements and is willing to entertain regular employment with your organization after working as a temporary for you for a minimum of ninety (90) days.  A CBG client services specialist will develop a billing arrangement that eliminates CBG's usual conversion fee requirement, which would be due if you hire any CBG referred individual.

Conversion

Should circumstances change, you may decide to employ a CBG field worker who has been working for you as a temporary and is open to accepting permanent employment.  CBG then requires a conversion fee, equal to a percentage of the hiree’s annual compensation (including any bonuses and commissions).

Direct Hire

This employment service can be a shortcut for filling your vacancy sooner.  A CBG client services specialist will review our candidate, field worker and outside applicant pools and select several individuals willing to accept regular employment with your organization. Their resumes will be presented to you and arrangements for interviews and/or meetings with likely matches will be arranged.  A retainer fee is required at contract initiation, whether or not a CBG candidate is hired.  Should you make an offer of employment to a person CBG refers, we will invoice your organization for a fee equal to a percentage of the selected candidate's annual total compensation (including any bonuses and commissions), less the retainer.

Executive Search

CBG provides custom-tailored executive search services for discriminating clients with special needs.  An exclusive contractual agreement defines the responsibilities, time limits, methodology and fees for this labor-intensive process.  It includes sourcing, advertising for, screening and presenting candidates to your standards, and taps into our extensive databases as well as outside contacts and referrals.  Let CBG market your organization and qualify the best finalists for you.  Either a retainer arrangement or an hourly rate is negotiated in advance.

Contract Personnel

CBG can provide specialized information and library personnel for grant fulfillments and specialized long-term projects.  We assign as many experienced workers as you require to meet contract deadlines or to keep your operation running smoothly, start to finish.
