Information Service Analyst

The Food Marketing Institute (FMI) is a national trade association, representing the supermarket industry. We are seeking an Information Service Analyst to conduct customized, in-depth research utilizing written and electronic resources for members, staff, and media in a timely fashion. Specific duties include: selecting and classifying materials from journals and electronic resources; and abstracting and indexing trade publications and entering the data into the Reference Point database. Analyst will edit and proofread abstracts for monthly publication of Reference Point; orient members, visitors, and staff to FMI and Information Service’s policies and procedures; and write and edit industry fact publications.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer, who is detail-oriented, customer service focused, and computer literate using Microsoft office. Candidate will also have a Master’s degree in Library Science; a minimum of two years prior library reference experience; and in-depth knowledge of searching online commercial databases, including DIALOG, NEXIS, Factiva, and the World Wide Web. Candidate must be able to lift files and books up to 25 pounds!
